Grilled Bananas with Chocolate and Cinnamon Ice Cream

This unique dessert will be the most memorable part of the barbeque.

Recipe by Master Chocolatier Urs Liechti

Ingredients:
  • 2 bars (3.5ounces/100grams each) Lindt Bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 pint (475ml) vanilla ice cream
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 bananas

Aluminum foil

Method:
  1. Remove the vanilla ice cream from the freezer and let it soften
  2. Chop one bar of the chocolate into chunks
  3. Either using a mixer or by hand, stir the chocolate and cinnamon into the softened vanilla ice cream. Put the ice cream back into the freezer
  4. Peel the bananas and slice in half lengthwise
  5. Break the second chocolate bar into 4 rows, lengthwise
  6. Place the chocolate on the bottom half of the banana, put the top half back in place and wrap in aluminum foil. Repeat procedure for the remaining 3 bananas
  7. Place the foil wrapped bananas on the grill. Remove when they are soft and the chocolate is melted. This can be easily checked using a toothpick or skewer
To Serve
  1. Place the grilled banana on a plate and carefully unwrap the foil
  2. Top with a scoop of the cinnamon & chocolate ice cream
