You can make this dark chocolate avocado mousse recipe suitable for vegans by using your favorite plant-based milk. You can also sprinkle with fresh berries instead of (or in addition to) chopped hazelnuts for an extra burst of flavor.
Ingredients
- 3.5 oz Lindt EXCELLENCE 70% Cocoa Dark Chocolate, chopped
- 2 medium-sized ripe avacados
- 3/4 cup milk, at room temperature (see tip)
- 6 small dates or 2 large Medjool dates, pitted
- 4.4 oz unsweetened applesauce
- 2 tsp maple syrup, or to taste

Put the chopped chocolate into a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of barely simmering water. Stir until the chocolate is melted. Remove from the heat and leave to cool for 5 minutes.

Slice open the avocados and remove the pit. Scoop out the flesh into a food processor.

Add milk, dates, applesauce, maple syrup (to taste), and the melted chocolate to the food processor.

Blend for 3-4 minutes until the mixture is perfectly smooth.

Spoon the mixture into 4 medium-sized bowls or glasses. Sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts. Top each serving with a square of Lindt Excellence 70% Cocoa Dark Chocolate.
